Technology SIG: Rockin' Webinars: Deliver Webinars that Energize Participants

Too many webinars are just plain boring, where the participant passively sits back and either multitasks, only halfway listens, or even falls asleep (yes, it happens). Discover how to develop and deliver webinars that fully engage participants through discussion, activities, and exercises that invite active participation. In this classroom-based session you will participate in a simulated virtual environment and learn how to sequence webinars to keep the pace flowing and create interactivity to maintain attention. Come find your groove and learn how to rock on!

Objectives: At the end of the session, the participants should be able to…

• Detail techniques for increasing interactivity within webinar-based delivery.
• Explain how to sequence the content for shortened attention spans.
• Describe tips on how to personalize the experience for the learner.
• Articulate the benefits of using live video of the instructor.

About the speaker:

Brian L. French

President, Harmonic Learning

Brian L. French is an L&D professional with 30 years of experience in the development and delivery of learning and development programs.

He is the Founder and President of Harmonic Learning, LLC, a Leadership and Professional Development company that provides developmental programs in the areas of Communication, Leadership, and Teaming. The company also provides services for business and L&D, including the design, development and delivery of instructional webinars.

Brian was previously manager of Leadership Development for Verizon, where he managed the design, development and delivery of enterprise-wide leadership development programs.

Brian has been producing virtual courses and teaching via video since 1996. He's used many collaboration tools through the years and loves the challenge of making the most out of whatever technology is in use. During his years with Verizon, Brian became known as the 'Webinar Guy' as he produced and hosted weekly leadership development sessions for up to 500 participants.

All members of Dallas ATD are welcome to attend any SIG any time. All non-members please feel free to join us for up to 2 sessions at a SIG. After 2 sessions, to provide ongoing chapter support to the SIG, you will be expected to join Dallas ASTD by paying the annual dues of $115.
