Job aids often serve as an auxiliary to the training experience, instead of as an integral part of it. They can be viewed by stakeholders as another place to put a lot of content that didn’t make it into the course. Often, they are poorly formatted and difficult for the learner to slog through. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Join Rance Greene for a lively discussion and demonstration of how to create job aids that can be used as anchors for learners during and after training.

  • Utilize a simple process for assessing when a job aid is needed
  • Integrate job aids into the training itself
  • Create visual job aids using a learning technology that you already own—PowerPoint

Rance will be sharing many examples of job aids from HCSC’s compliance training and walking through the creation of a practical, visual job aid. Participants will receive a template that they can use for their own projects.

About the facilitator:


Rance Greene oversees compliance training at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC). His courses have won awards from the eLearning Guild, Health Ethics Trust, AXIS Awards and even a Telly Award. He was named by Training Magazine as a 2016 Emerging Training Leader. His sessions are noted for their creativity and practicality. You are welcome to arrive early to network and get settled prior to the start of the meeting. You are welcome to bring your lunch or purchase lunch at the onsite cafeteria, if you would like.


All members of Dallas ATD are welcome to attend any SIG any time. All non-members please feel free to join us for up to 2 sessions at a SIG. After 2 sessions, to provide ongoing chapter support to the SIG, you will be expected to join Dallas ASTD by paying the annual dues of $115.
