James D. Wallace, IV Instructional Designer | Ops Talent – Development

With 30 years in training and development in three different industries, James designs and develops training systems for Worldwide Operations in his third role after four years at Amazon with a global reach of over 350,000 of the 920,000 employees. Starting at Amazon as the first engineer in the smart home start-up business unit, James wrote SOPs and Standard Work documents, scripted the first face-to-face Amazon employee interaction with a customer, and presented to Jeff Bezos three times in his first year. In his second role, James led the design of the training department for the world largest fulfillment center in Coppell, Texas, where he earned Best in Class for training over 4,000 employees in under six months. When not thinking of ways to create dynamic, engaging training materials for Amazon – James is an award-winning novelist, a James Beard award-winning culinary arts and sommelier speaker, volunteer mentor and public speaker at American Corporate Partners; and, never least, spending quality time with his two-year-old, Coralyn Aurelia; one-year-old, James David V; and YA genre novelist and SOX internal auditor wife, Jennifer. James earned a M.Sc. from Medical College of Wisconsin in Physiology with an emphasis in biochemical nutrition, an MBA in Finance focused on derivative markets from Marquette University, and a summa cum laude BS in Mammalian Physiology and Environmental Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego.
