ABOUT THE PANEL:
Kristi Owens is responsible for developing and executing all Leadership and Employee development activities at Southwest Airlines as the Vice President Talent & Leadership Development. By providing strategic direction for learning and development, organizational development, and talent management efforts, Kristi contributes to enhancing the airline's pipeline of Leaders and Employees.
Kristi graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in management information systems and a minor in management. She and her husband, Les, have three beautiful children, Sutton, Harper, and Elle. Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and cooking/baking.
Colette has been working for Southwest Airlines as a Training and Development Leader since 2010. She is an accomplished Leader with over 20 years of experience as an effective Speaker, Leader, Trainer, Facilitator, and Instructional Designer. She began her career in Canada in education, as a teacher. She taught for several years and then supported the school district as a consulting teacher, curriculum developer, and a teacher trainer. She made the move to Texas in 2008 and continued in education where she supported and led a Post-Secondary Transition Program. In 2010, she decided to combine her passion for training with her love for travel and began her journey with Southwest Airlines. Colette is currently a Leader in the Talent and Leadership Development Department, where she and her Team focusses on Leadership Development for the company. Colette is passionate about hospitality, customer service, employee engagement, onboarding, and corporate culture.
Elle is the Director of Leadership and Employee Development for Southwest Airlines. She has been with Southwest for 13 years and has had the privilege of being grown and developed by its incredible culture and commitment to its Employees! Elle has a passion for People and for their ability to transform Teams and Organizations through values-based Leadership and shared purpose. She has partnered with her Team to build 10 transformational Development Programs for the Talent and Leadership Development Department since 2021 including Leadership Conferences, High Potential Development Cohort-Based Programs, an Enterprise-wide Mentorship Program and Executive Development Programs. Elle believes in a formative approach to development that addresses the entire person through experiences and education that focus equally on character and competence.
Elle loves spending time with her precious family. James, Elle’s husband, works for Southwest as well, and her sweet boys Luca (9 years old) and Milo (6 years old) are the light of her life. On the weekends, you can find her reading, making a batch of her famous Caesar salad, or trying out a new bottle of red wine.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR:
Dr. David Reyes currently serves as a Manager for Talent & Leadership Development at Southwest Airlines and leads a team of Leadership Development Professionals. Dr. Reyes is also an adjunct professor of Leadership & Communication Studies at Dallas Baptist University.

You must register before noon on Wednesday, June 12th to ensure that you are on the list for security to enter the campus and building.
- Member registration: Free!
- Non-Member Guest registration: $25
SECURITY & ENTRY INFORMATION
- Those who have not registered in advance (by 12 PM on 6/12) will not be admitted through the drive-up security gate onto the campus.
- IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED IN ADVANCE WITH SECURITY YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INTO THE BUILDING!

Directions to the Lead Center, 2175 Research Row, will guide you to a security checkpoint. Those who have not registered in advance will not be admitted through security. Let the security attendant know that you are attending the “ATD Dallas Chapter Event at the Lead Center”. You MUST show your driver’s license and be registered to enter. The security attendant will advise you where to park.
