ATD Dallas December Chapter Meeting
Hosted by

The Future of Learning Is Collaborative: Building Talent Development Champions in the Age of AI
Tuesday, December 8, 2026 | 6:00 – 7:30 PM
Speaker: Becky Willis
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The most effective Talent Development teams are no longer working alone. In today’s rapidly changing workplace, scalable learning, relevant content, and measurable business impact require collaboration across the organization with more than just SMEs.
This interactive session explores how Talent Development leaders can recruit, train, and support internal champions to expand capability-building efforts, increase learning relevance, and strengthen organizational performance. Participants will discover how
collaborative learning models help move TD teams beyond reactive order-taking and content production into more strategic roles focused on performance consulting, business alignment, and workforce capability.
The session also explores how AI is becoming a powerful enabler of collaboration by helping organizations co-create content faster, personalize learning support, capture organizational knowledge, and provide greater context at the moment of need. Rather than
replacing the human side of learning, AI can help strengthen partnerships between TD, subject matter experts, managers, and employees.
Attendees will learn how to build sustainable champion networks that increase engagement, improve adoption, and create stronger business value across the organization.
Learning Objectives
- Attendees will be able to implement the new view of collaborative learning using a framework for building and sustaining internal learning champions
- Adapt new strategies to increase collaboration between TD, SMEs, managers, and business leaders
- Using practical ways AI can support collaborative learning and knowledge sharing
- And shift TD from content producer to strategic performance partner
