Designing Interactions for Adult Learning Programs

CHANGE OF DATE!

Friday, July 14, 2017 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Facilitator: Brian L. French
Harmonic Learning, LLC

Engage your adult learners through the use of interactivity within your courses. Interactions within a class allow the learner to actively engage with the content. This helps them to process the information being received and gain perspective on applying the learning on the job. It also creates personalization of the learning as the participant envisions how they can utilize the information for positive effect in their work. Interactions include a wide variety of activities, exercises, and discussions and can range from fun and playful, to serious and intense. All interactions have the ultimate goal of making the content stickier. Within this session, you will actively engage in various types of interactions and learn how to apply them in the classroom. You will also learn techniques on altering interactions for a webinar-based delivery. We’ll also briefly discuss how to increase interactivity within online training programs.

So, come ready to engage, discuss, play, and learn!

The participants should be able to:

  • Detail how interactions increase learner engagement and content retention.
  • List various types of interactivity in the areas of activities, exercises, and discussions.
  • Articulate the importance of aligning interactions with the learning goals.
  • Determine ways to alter interactions for use in webinars and online training.

Why do you want to attend the January Lunch & Learn SIG meeting?

Because…  You will learn principles that work from the best-selling book, Five Dysfunctions of a Team.

Because… A cohesive team will:

  • ·         Make better, faster decisions as people are aligned and on-board
  • ·         Leverage the skills, talents and opinions of all team members
  • ·         Ensure conflict becomes productive and healthy versus draining and damaging
  • ·         Focus on the results versus self-interest and politics
  • ·         Create a competitive advantage and sets your organization apart
  • ·         Eventually become “A Best Place to Work”

Join us for this interactive, engaging SIG where we will explore the behaviors that create a high performing team, give you practices to bring to your own organization and insight as to why this concept has been embraced and widely accepted around the world.
