Improving Working Relationships: Like Glasses and Mirrors, Assessments Focus and Reflect
Friday, September 22nd, 2017 @ 11:30am - 12:30pm
Facilitator: Brian L. French
Why can’t we just get along? Have you ever found yourself asking that question about someone in the workplace? Unfortunately, it’s a far too common question in today’s working environment. With the stressors and pressures facing modern workers, relationships often take the backseat, leading to negativity, tension, and conflict amongst a team. And that leads to greatly lowered employee engagement, which leads to lower productivity, lower motivation, and lower results… ugh. But there’s a way to turn those relationships around and create a positive working environment… one that people will enjoy coming to everyday. Within this session, you will discover how assessments and communication models can focus people to turn negative working relationships into positive ones. Through interpersonal awareness and emotional intelligence employees can become motivated to creating a positive working environment where everyone feels equally valued and involved, and equally motivated to do their best.
By the end of the session, the participant should be able to:
- Articulate how assessments can increase insight into self and others
- Identify various types of assessments and their appropriate use within the workplace
- Explain how assessments can increase interpersonal awareness and emotional intelligence
- Indicate business cases that can benefit from the use of assessments
