Leadership & Stories
October 20, 2017 11:30am - 12:30pm Facilitator: Rance Greene
Maggie was promoted to management 3 months ago. Before she was promoted, she was a high-performer, delivering quality work, often ahead of schedule. At first, her new team was happy to have her as their manager, but lately, she’s noticed that the team’s initial enthusiasm has waned. Deadlines have even started to slip. She decided to bring it up at the next staff meeting.
What will happen in that staff meeting? Is Maggie prepared to handle what may come up during the discussion? Why has the team started drifting? This is real life. Managers have to deal with these kinds of situations all the time. And what is the best way to train managers for these moments?
Join us for a dynamic session of storytelling.
About the facilitator:
Rance Greene spends a great deal of time designing stories at HCSC. Stories for eLearning. Stories for webinars. Stories for live presentations to customer-facing employees and customized stories for the Board of Directors. And in all of that story writing and instructional design, he has discovered one thing that always rings true: everybody loves a good story. Learning retention increases. Instant buy-in is gained. And so, his quest to equip more people to tell good stories that connect concretely to learning goes on. His Master Class Series, Story Design, gives learning professionals the tools to discover, design and deliver stories for effective training. Come to this session and get a taste of just how thrilling training can be.
