And how will improvements in onboarding and engagement help to enhance organizational effectiveness? Learn the answers to these questions and much more during our upcoming panel discussion.


At this month’s ATD meeting we will focus on Onboarding and Employee Engagement through a moderated panel discussion. You’ll hear from the 3 experts in this space as they share their personal experiences. They will also describe what great organizations are doing in order to better attract and retain talent.

About the speakers:


Dr. Cheryl Bates holds a doctorate in Management with emphasis on Organizational Leadership. Cheryl describes herself as an employee advocate, learning and development enthusiast and a workplace culture architect.


Driven by a passion for improving the employee experience, her professional focus has been employee engagement, learning and development, employee communications, diversity, equity and inclusion, productive work behaviors and workplace culture.

Darnell Wheeler is an organizational learning & development leader, with over 20 years experience in learning and leadership development. He has crafted development solutions for multiple industries, including banking, business technology, public accounting, and consulting. He shapes high-performing teams by using progressive program implementation, strategic needs analysis, performance consulting, interactive curriculum design and various modalities of content development.


He lives in Allen Texas, is a native of Chicago and a proud Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox fan. He is a proud husband and father of three teenage children.


Lisa Seay is on a mission to help individuals find their professional purpose (and power!) and help companies develop cost-effective, efficient and sustainable talent management strategies. As founder of the coaching/consulting firm element c, Lisa leverages her HR background to provide coaching, leadership development and team building services. By working in myriad environments during her 25-year corporate career—including Internet startups, mergers and acquisitions, franchised organizations and large entities with multi-state locations—she knows firsthand how challenging organizational situations impact workforce performance, employee engagement and personal career growth.


Prior to launching element c in 2015, Lisa held talent management and HR director roles in a variety of organizations, including A.T. Kearney and Baylor Health Care System. Most recently, she served as a National Director of Human Resources at Conifer Health Solutions in Frisco, Texas, where she led a team that supported 3,000+ employees. During Lisa’s tenure at Yum! Brands/Pizza Hut, Inc., she managed a $500K employee marketing initiative that attracted 250,000+ job seekers to the company’s new online application system in three months.


A proponent of life-long learning, Lisa holds a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas and is a Certified Lumina Learning Practitioner. Lisa lives outside Dallas with her husband, Brian, who works in the financial services industry, and their two daughters. She is President-Elect for the National Charity League North Dallas chapter, Director of Communications for the Texas Coaches Coalition and serves on the budget committee at her church.
