ATD Dallas July Career Development SIG
Hosted by Laurie Barnett
July 24, 2023 / 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Facilitator: Mike Faber
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
As L&D professionals, we’re all facing tighter budgets and greater demands from our internal constituents. Leaders want learning that is fast, affordable, and able to make an impact on the bottom line quickly. But how do you do that when your team is concerned about potential layoffs or a corporate landscape that has devalued learning?
ICF certified coach, facilitator, and L&D consultant Mike Faber MS, ACC posits that coaching should be a part of every L&D professional’s toolkit, and part of every training proposal. Too often leaders on the revenue side want behavioral change from a one-hour Zoom presentation or a four-hour in-person classroom experience.
In this engaging presentation, Mike will share his journey from award-winning salesperson, to management, to L&D and coaching. He’ll also share the skills needed to coach, how to integrate coaching into training, and most importantly, help you position coaching as the integral piece to turn learning into action.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
As a participant, you will…
- Be able to identify whether adding coaching to your skill set is right for you.
- Learn how to position coaching as integral to successful training.
- Engage and empower learners through an easy-to-learn coaching model.
