ATD Dallas October L&D SIG
Hosted by Laurie Barnett & Melissa Greer
October 6, 2023/12:00pm-1:30pm CST
Facilitator: Matt Gjertsen
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Most learning interventions fail because they focus on facts and ideas instead of practical changes in behavior. If we want to change behavior, we need to focus on how the brain decides what action to take and then design a course with that in mind. This interactive session will help participants design training that uses the three essential ingredients for behavior change: specificity, connection, and context.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Clearly identify specific outcomes for your training.
2. Create connections in the brain using repetition and emotion.
3. Give context for learners so they put what they have learned to use.
