Why are skills and knowledge so difficult to move between different contexts? Why do new hires so frequently struggle to perform even basic tasks when engaged with a new industry or position? During this session, we will start by diving into the issue of transfer, consider what is required for effective transfer to occur, and explore the only truly future-proof skill research has ever found: learning. From there, we will consider the concept of emerging digital technologies. How do these tools align with the transfer process and what is the single biggest impediment for these tools with regards to skill acquisition and transfer?
Join us for this interactive and dynamic session to learn how to turn those “empathy weaklings” into the Mr. and Mrs. Olympia of the management world!
WHY ATTEND?
By the end of this session, you’ll be able to:
- Participants will be able to define the three steps of effective transfer.
- Participants will be able to align key pedagogical strategies with different stages of the transfer process.
- Participants will be able to discuss the role of technology in the learning process and explain key benefits / detriments of these tools.
