Parking:
*ASTD visitors may use visitor parking on the NE side of the building by the flags. Visitor parking is limited, so if all visitor parking is taken, you may park in any open space.

Entering the building:
*ASTD visitors must enter the building through the main entrance on the NE side of the building by the flags. This entrance faces the intersection of Headquarters and Preston. There is a security desk immediately inside the entrance where you will sign in for access to the building. The ASTD registration table will be directly behind the security desk.

Meeting Schedule:
5:30 - 6:00  Registration
6:00 - 6:30  Networking and snacks/refreshments
6:30 - 7:30  Program
7:30 - 8:00  Optional Networking and Best Practice sharing

 

About Melisa Powers:

Melisa is an innovator and adult-learning champion.  Her experience spans fourteen years of mixing cutting edge delivery methods with sound adult-learning principles.  Melisa has been an active member of ASTD during this time, and her most recent accomplishment focused on leading her team to win the ASTD Best Places to Learn “On Boarding” award.

 Melisa’s career in learning began after she made the tough choice to leave a lucrative sales career. This decision was driven by a passion to help other professionals be better at what they do, combined with an opportunity to create a Sales Learning Organization from the ground up.

Most of what Melisa uses today was learned through the hard knocks of failure or trial and error.  Later through self-study, and attending countless ASTD conferences, her methods would be validated by Adult Learning Theory.  If she had only known during that first year the vast knowledge available through ASTD and the Learning Profession itself success might have come much quicker.
