Topic: LMS Selection – Lessons from the Battlefield

What exactly can a LMS do for you? There are so many different platforms and the number of vendors that appear (and subsequently) disappear can be mind boggling. What if you do not have a big budget, what if your CEO or Board demands the “best”, what if you have no eLearning to offer…is a LMS still the right choice and if so, which one? And, with all the vendors saying how great their system is, how do I know who to trust?

As a learning practitioner Keith Meyerson has asked these same questions when he was seeking the right LMS for his needs. In this presentation Keith will provide you with the many lessons learned and help arm you with the right roadmap to determine the best (if any) LMS for your specific needs. Keith will speak to his experience of vendor/product selection, as well as help you navigate the mine field of implementation challenges that must be considered. After all, selection is only half the battle. The intention is to address the adage that “you don’t know what you don’t know.” 

After this discussion you will be better prepared to:

1. Understand if you really do need a LMS/TMS
2. How to navigate the selection process and final selection
3. LMS implementation strategies and best practices

All members of Dallas ASTD are welcome to attend any SIG any time. All non-members please feel free to join us for up to 2 sessions at a SIG. After 2 sessions, to provide ongoing chapter support to the SIG, you will be expected to join Dallas ASTD by paying the annual dues of $115.
