STEP Up: How the MetroPCS Sales Training Evolution Program Has Worked
At our July meeting MetroPCS will share its design of a blended learning program for Retail Associates that has driven sales and customer service capabilities in its stores. MetroPCS will discuss how the elements of its voluntary program have enthusiastically engaged employees and delivered an effective return-on-investment (ROI). The presenters will describe how the highly motivating incentives and certifications of their competency-based program has engaged more than 2000 sales and management professionals by linking achievements to specific career paths. The blended learning includes ILT, OJT, observed assessment and online learning. Many online learning programs are immersive and provide simulated practice situations. In addition, there is an on-the-job practicum for senior level positions ensuring that learners can demonstrate the skills they have learned. Certification and progress of learners is monitored through the human resources information system, Workday, enabling MetroPCS to standardize award levels and manage the overall STEP program. The program has been highly successful in training, promotion, recognition, and bottom-line results.
